- The CHL’s #3 ranked team defeats the #5 ranked Knights and Windsor wins its third consecutive game. They lead the OHL with 83 points on the strength of a 39-7-0-5 record.
- Forward Taylor Hall extended his point streak to fourteen consecutive games, the third longest streak in the OHL and also has tied the league high with 11 straight games with at least one assist, as he scored two goals and added two assists against the Knights and was named first star of the game. This was Hall’s second consecutive night as he scored four points against the Storm yesterday night. He also posted a +3 plus-minus rating in tonight’s contest. This was Hall’s ninth game of the season where he registered four or more points and he is ranked second overall in the OHL scoring race with 80 points in 43 games. Hall is also fourth in the OHL in goals scored with 34 and is tied for second in the OHL with 46 assists. He is also tied for 4th in the league with a +32 plus-minus
- Forward Scott Timmins scored two goals and recorded three points tonight in being named the second star of the game, as he scored two goals in 31 seconds during the second period including the game winner at the 13:20 mark
- Forward Eric Wellwood scored one goal and registered a +3 plus-minus rating for the second consecutive night as he was also a +3 in Windsor’s win against Guelph last night. In 13 January games, Wellwood has scored 9 goals and 22 points. He is tied for 13th in the OHL with teammate Adam Henrique at 56 points in 43 games and he is also tied for 4th in the league with Taylor Hall, registering a +32 plus-minus rating
- Goaltender Philipp Grubauer improved his record with the Spitfires to 6-0-0-1, making 21 of 24 stops in tonight’s win. He has also registered a 2.13 goals against average and a .925 save percentage in seven starts with Windsor
- Defenceman Cam Fowler scored a goal in his second straight game for the Spitfires and is ranked sixth amongst all OHL defencemen with 45 points in 42 games, he is also tied for second in the OHL with teammate Mark Cundari posting a +34 plus-minus rating this season
- Forward Justin Shugg and defenceman Ryan Ellis registered three points in tonight’s contest as Shugg scored one goal and added two assists while Ellis totaled three assists. Ellis was selected as the game’s third star
- The Spitfires were without forwards Adam Henrique and Zack Kassian for the game due to suspensions and were also without forwards Dale Mitchell, Greg Nemisz as well as defenseman Saverio Posa due to injuries
