Windsor Beats Niagara in Taylor Hall’s Return

Taylor Hall returned to Windsor's line-up today as the Spitfires defeated the Ice Dogs 5-2.

Johnson Andrews and Adam Wallace started this game off by dropping the gloves and that got the fans on their feet. Niagara would be the first to score in this one as Alex Friesen put a loose puck in the back of the net. But Kenny Ryan would tip in a shot to tie the game up going into the second.

The Spits came out flying in the second as Michael Hasson deflected Justin Shugg's shot into his own net to give Windsor the lead. Hall and Ryan both roofed goals of their own to send Windsor to the third with a 4-1 lead.

The third period began with two heavy weights going toe-to-toe as Harry Young paired up with Josh Moes for a great tilt. Young got the better of Moes in this one. Shugg scored his second of the game as he tipped in Mark Cundari's shot from the point to put this game to rest. Reggie Traccitto added a goal in the dying seconds but it was too late as the Spits went on to defeat the Ice Dogs 5-2.

After a tough loss to Kitchener on Friday, the Spits were going to have to come out and play at the top of their game in order to get back on their feet and get a win and that's just what they did. Windsor looked like a strong team for the first time in a week.

Today's In Play! player of the game goes to Kenny Ryan. He scored two goals and it seemed that every time he was on the ice, he was either hitting someone or he was bringing the puck towards the net.

Ryan explains to In Play! how he's finding his spot this Spitfire team.

“Their giving me more opportunity and I'm just trying to take advantage of it. I'm also getting more comfortable too.”

Windsor will have a break until Thursday when they will take on the Guelph Storm. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m.
