Canada Defeats Switzerland 6-0 at the 2010 IIHF WJHC Tournament

(Saskatoon) Earlier today, Canada improved their record to a perfect 2-0 at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, as they defeated Switzerland 6-0 in Saskatoon, SK. Spitfire defenseman Ryan Ellis notched two assists for Canada and Spitfire forward Taylor Hall added one assist for Canada in the contest. Canadian goaltender Jake Allen stopped all 15 shots he faced in securing the win. Canada has now outscored its opponents 22-0 in their first two games of the tournament.

Canada will play its third game of the tournament tomorrow at 8 pm EST as they face Slovakia. Spitfires Taylor Hall, Ryan Ellis, Adam Henrique and Greg Nemisz of Team Canada will be facing Spitfire teammate Richard Panik from Team Slovakia. The game will be broadcast live on TSN.

Team USA, featuring Spitfire defenseman Cam Fowler and future Spits goaltender Jack Campbell will play Latvia at 4 pm EST tomorrow. USA has also won both of their games in the tournament and is tied with Canada at 2-0 atop the Group A standings.
