Windsor takes game one against the Erie Otters as they defeat them at the WFCU Centre 6-2.
This was a Windsor-based game as they started the scoring and didn't stop. Justin Shugg potted the first one of the series and the only one of the period to give Windsor the early jump.
Greg McKegg scored for Erie to tie things up in the second but it went downhill for Erie from there. Starting with Dale Mitchell, then Zack Kassian, then really putting the lead out of hand as Adam Henrique also put one in and the Spits would go to the third with a huge 4-1 lead.
Henrique wouldn't wait much longer before adding another goal in the third. Anthony Luciani would score for Erie but Marc Cantin would score to put this game out of reach and give Windsor the win.
Windsor was an all out attack team tonight as they played really strong and performed great in front of their home crowd. They more than doubled Erie in shots as they beat them 46-21.
Tonight's In Play! Magazine player of the game goes to Henrique. The over ager led the team like he`s supposed to do as he scored two goals and had one assist.
Windsor will play game two in Erie on Sunday. Game time will start at 4:30 p.m.
