The London Knights defeated the Windsor Spitfires in over time at the John Labatt Centre 4-3.
It almost took two full periods before Scott Timmins found the back of the net to put Windsor up 1-0.
Early in the third, Jared Knight put home the rebound to finally put the Knights on the board and tie this game at one. Following these goals, both teams started throwing their weight around a lot more than they had the entire game. Nazem Kadri would be the next to score as he taps in the wide open net. Seconds later, Adam Henrique fired in the rebound and the game would be tied up once again. Knights Captain, Justin Taylor roofed one past Philipp Grubauer. But Justin Shugg would score on a weak back hander that would send this game to over time.
After great scoring chances from both teams, it seemed that this game was going into a shootout until Kadri sneaked the puck past Grubauer with under a minute left to give the Knights the over time win.
Windsor looked a little tired and sluggish heading into over time tonight. Even though they were missing Taylor Hall and Ryan Ellis as they were being rested. But on the plus side, Windsor showed they can compete without those two players verse a very talented London team.
Tonight's In Play! Magazine player of the game goes to Michael Houser as he made 43 saves on 46 shots. He stretched from one side of the crease to the other to make a save multiple times tonight and that will earn Wim tonight's In Play! Magazine player of the game.
Windsor will continue their road trip to Sarnia to play the Sting tomorrow. Game time will start at 7:30 p.m.
