(Windsor) Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced that the team has acquired overage right-winger Jake Carrick from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Carrick, a 20 year-old native of Stouffville, ON is listed at 5’11” and 180 pounds.
In exchange, the Spitfires have sent overage defenceman Brent Sullivan as well as a fourth round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, a third round pick in 2013, a tenth round pick in 2014 and a second round pick in 2015 to the Greyhounds.
This season, Carrick has 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points with 93 penalty minutes in 34 games with Sault Ste. Marie.
“Obviously at this point and time, we’re all in to make a playoff run and needed to add a player of Carrick’s calibre to the lineup. His grit and skill will be huge additions to the team, we are excited to have Jake to the lineup starting this Friday when we play in Ottawa,” said Warren Rychel.

Whaley a Whaler
Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced that second-year centre Michael Whaley has been dealt to the Plymouth Whalers.
In exchange, the Spits will receive Plymouth's 13th round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection.
"We're sorry to see Michael go," said Warren Rychel. "But it's a great opportunity for him to get more playing time in Plymouth. We wish him all the best in his career."
Whaley, a 17-year-old from London, Ontario played parts of two seasons with the Spitfires.
In 65 career games, he scored two goals and added 10 assists - including a goal and an assist this season.
