(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce that the team will be hosting its annual Sparky’s Toy Drive, Teddy Bear Toss and “We Can, We Care Canned Food Drive Campaign” as part of the team’s first three December home games at the WFCU Centre. Each initiative will support local charities for the upcoming holiday season.
The team will be kicking off its holiday based initiatives with Sparky’s Toy Drive, presented by AM800 CKLW and Windsor Fire and Rescue Services at the Thursday, December 10th 7:05 p.m. home game against the Erie Otters. All fans attending the game are encouraged to bring new toys or to donate funds to the Windsor Firefighters who will be passing a boot throughout the stands during the game.
At the Sunday, December 13th 2 p.m. home game versus the Kitchener Rangers, the Spitfires will be hosting their annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented courtesy of the Windsor Star, AM800 CKLW as well as Windsor Fire and Rescue Services. Attending fans are encouraged to bring new or lightly used teddy bears to the game and when the Spitfires score their first goal, fans can throw their teddy bears onto the ice.
The Spitfires also encourage fans to bring non-perishable canned goods to the Thursday, December 17th 7:05 p.m. home game against the London Knights. The cans will be collected at the WFCU Centre’s main entrances prior to the commencement of the game in support of the “We Can, We Care Canned Food Drive Campaign”, presented by Rose City/Mayflower Moving Company and the Windsor and Essex County Rotary Clubs.
