(Windsor) Right-winger Greg Nemisz is the Windsor Spitfires Player of the Week as selected by the Spitfires coaching staff for the week ending Sunday, November 8th. Nemisz scored four goals in three games for the Spitfires and led the CHL’s fourth ranked squad to a perfect 3-0 record last week.
On Thursday, Nemisz posted a +1 plus/minus rating in Windsor’s 4-1 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at the WFCU Centre. The following night, he scored a hat-trick and was named the first star of the game in Windsor’s 6-3 win over the CHL’s second ranked Kitchener Rangers in Kitchener. On Sunday, Nemisz scored one goal in Windsor’s 4-2 win over the Oshawa Generals at the WFCU Centre.
The 19 year-old Courtice, ON native is currently tied for third in the OHL with a +18 plus/minus rating and is also tied for fourth in the OHL in both goals scored (18) and points (32) in 18 games this season. Nemisz was selected by the Calgary Flames in the first round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and was also chosen as one of five Spitfires to play for Team West at the 2009 Subway OHL All-Star Classic hosted in Windsor, ON.
