They needed a big effort after getting chase out of Erie on Saturday night. And they got it.
Tom Kuhnhackl and Kerby Rychel each had a pair of goals, as the Spitfires scored five times in the third period to beat the Battalion 7-1 in Brampton Sunday afternoon.
Jack Campbell was outstanding in goal for Windsor (28-17-2-3) after being pulled in Erie a night earlier, making 29 saves and coming with 43 seconds of a shutout.
The Spits scored got shorthanded goals in each of the first two periods, from Kenny Ryan and Kuhnhackl, to take a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Then they exploded in the third period.
Windsor got a pair of goals from Rychel, including one on a penalty shot, Kuhnhackl, Alexander Khokhlachev and Nick Ebert in a 10-minute span to sweep their season series with Brampton.
Andreas Tsogkas spoiled Campbell's perfect afternoon, scoring a meaningless goal with just 43 seconds to play.
The Spitfires scored five of their seven goals on special teams - with three power play goals coming after heir two shorthanded markers.
