Running away with Western Conference supremacy is a dream for many this year. What a competitive place to be. Owen Sound is responsible for stealing the lead away from the Saginaw Spirit recently who have commanded the Conference for most of the season. The Attack had been chasing the Spirit in a very determined manner. Owen Sound’s loaded guns, Hishon and Wilson stepped up to the challenge.

On February 6, 2011 another Spirit/Attack battle happened at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound where the Attack got by Saginaw with a spirited 5-4 win. On that day, the Attack finally pushed ahead of the Spirit in the standings, sitting four points in front of them. In the season series, Owen Sound has the better record with three wins to boast about and Saginaw earned two victories. A close rivalry to be certain.

In that last game, Andrew Shaw with Owen Sound scored in the third with 14.19 left in the period and that proved to be the winning goal. The Owen Sound Attack have been keeping Saginaw behind ever since the last conference matchup.
