Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the third time this season. For the week ending January 31, Hall collected a league-high nine points in three games scoring four goals and five assists with a league-best plus-minus rating of plus-7.

Hall opened his week with consecutive four-point games scoring two goals and two assists in a 5-1 win over the Guelph Storm on Thursday night, and again on Friday night in a 7-3 win over the London Knights. He was named first star of both games. His week wrapped up Sunday with a third period assist on the power play receiving third star of the game honours in a 4-1 win over the Sarnia Sting.

Hall, an 18-year-old from Kingston, ON, returns home this week to compete in the 2010 OHL All-Star Classic representing the Western Conference All-Stars February 2-3 at the K-Rock Centre. Eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Hall enters the All-Star break second in league scoring with 34 goals and 47 assists for 81 points in 44 games.

Peter Holland of the Guelph Storm and Joe Pleckaitis of the Kingston Frontenacs each receive honourable mention this week for scoring four goals and three assists for seven points in three games with an identical plus-minus rating of plus-4. In goal, Western Conference All-Star Robin Lehner of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds was also considered after winning two games including a shutout victory with a goals-against-average of 0.500 and save percentage of .983.
