The 19-year-old, fourth-year defenceman returned to the Spits in late September, after attending training camp with the Nashville Predators. Ellis led the team to a 9-6-0-1 record last month, putting up four goals and nine assists in 12 October games.

But the value of his experience and leadership far exceeds his statistics.

With 16 points on the season, Ellis is now just one away from breaking Joel Quenneville's record for most career points by a Spitfires defenceman (229). And he'll have a chance to break the record Wednesday night (7:05, WFCU Centre) when the Spits host the London Knights.

Next Monday, November 15th, Ellis and teammate Zack Kassian will represent the OHL in the Subway Super Series in Sudbury.

Prior to the commencement of a Spitfires home game in November, Ellis will receive a Bulova watch from Dan Thomas of Precision Jewellers for his outstanding performance in October.
