Kassian, a 19 year-old native of LaSalle, Ontario is in his second season with the Spitfires and is listed at 6’3” and 215 lbs. He currently leads the Spitfires and is tied for 13th in the OHL’s scoring race with 20 points (7 goals and 13 assists) in 11 games. He will be representing the Spitfires at the upcoming Subway Super Series game to be hosted in Sudbury, Ontario on November 15th.
Kassian spent the earlier part of this season with the Buffalo Sabres as he attended their training camp and participated in exhibition games with the Sabres before being returned to the Spitfires.
In 168 career OHL games, Kassian has netted 52 goals and added 83 assists for 135 points as a member of the Spitfires and the Peterborough Petes. The Windsor Spitfires acquired Kassian in a trade with the Petes last season and he was a key member of Windsor’s 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup and Rogers OHL championship run, registering 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points in the OHL Playoffs before adding 2 goals and 3 assists in the MasterCard Memorial Cup.
