Windsor Acquires Bezzo, Draft Picks from Owen Sound

(Windsor) Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced that the team has acquired defenseman Paul Bezzo from the Owen Sound Attack as well as Owen Sound’s second, third and twelfth round picks in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and a second round pick in 2012.

Bezzo, an 18 year-old rearguard, attended the Columbus Blue Jackets’ Training Camp earlier this year. The 6’1, 198 pound Simcoe, Ontario native will be in the lineup for this Thursday’s Spitfire home game against the London Knights at the WFCU Centre. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.

In exchange, the Spitfires have sent defenseman Jesse Blacker and forward Ben Dubois to the Attack.

“The addition of Bezzo brings toughness to our lineup on the back end. He is a good two-way player who will provide added experience to our defensive corps. The draft picks we received from Owen Sound will also help us build our team’s future,” said Warren Rychel.
