Spitfires Trade Action Continues - Campbell Off to The Soo Greyhounds

Windsor – Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel announced this afternoon that the Spitfires have traded goaltender Jack Campbell to the Soo Greyhounds in exchange for defenseman Mackenzie Braid, defenseman Patrick Sieloff (currently playing with US Development in Ann Arbor, MI), Kingston’s 3rd pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Draft, Windsor’s 2nd pick in 2013, Windsor’s 3rd pick in 2013, Owen Sound’s 2nd pick in 2014, Saginaw’s 2nd pick in 2014 and the Soo’s 2nd pick in 2015.

“Jack was the ultimate professional with the Spitfires,” said Rychel. “His dedication and commitment to the team was amazing. It will make him an excellent pro with the Dallas Stars. This is another step in our rebuild and an opportunity for him to win a championship in the OHL. All the best to Jack with the Soo, Team USA and his future career!”

Campbell was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 1st round of the 2010 NHL draft (11th overall) and currently has 6-3 record including a shutout against the Sarnia Sting. Jack maintains a 3.13GAA and a .0906 SAV% in twelve games between the pipes for Windsor this year.

Braid is currently scoreless in 4 games with the Soo this season and played 59 games with the Barrie Colts in 2010-11 scoring 5 goals for 12 points.
