It was quite a week for captain Ryan Ellis.

He scored a pair of goals to hit 300 points in his outstanding junior career. That moved him into third place in all-time scoring by an OHL defenceman.

Earlier in the week, Ellis moved into second place in Windsor Spitfires all-time scoring, behind only Bill Bowler (467).

In three games, the captain had two goals and five assists with a +5 rating.

Ellis had two assists, was +3 and played a solid defensive game last Thursday in a 4-1 win over the Ottawa 67s. The next night in the Soo, Ellis had three assists and a +1 rating in a 4-2 win over the Greyhounds. He wrapped the weekend with two goals and a +1 rating in a 6-5 OT loss in Sudbury.

Ellis leads the Spitfires in points, is the league's highest-scoring defenceman and fourth in overall OHL scoring (21G, 66A).
